I recently completed training as a General Virtual Assistant, where I was exposed to various administrative and healthcare-related tasks. During the training, one of the key assignments given by my mentor was to perform Medical Virtual Assistant tasks, which allowed me to gain practical experience in supporting healthcare professionals remotely.

As part of the training, I learned how to use systems commonly used in healthcare settings, such as Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems and scheduling tools like Google Calendar. I practiced scheduling patient appointments, organizing calendars, and ensuring that appointments were properly confirmed and updated when necessary. I also handled tasks related to managing and updating patient records, ensuring that information was organized and accurately maintained in the system.

In addition, I assisted with responding to patient inquiries through messages and email, providing basic information and directing concerns appropriately. I was also introduced to tasks such as handling billing-related concerns, checking insurance details, and assisting with administrative documentation. Part of my responsibilities also included conducting online research and supporting other general administrative tasks assigned during the training.

Through this experience, I developed strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills while becoming familiar with the workflow of healthcare support services. This training helped prepare me to effectively assist healthcare professionals and clients as a Medical Virtual Assistant.
