Freight Mode Challenge: Which Mode Fits?
Scenario 1: Small Parts Shipment A manufacturing company needs to ship 4 pallets of small machine parts weighing a total of 4,500 lbs from their factory to an assembly plant. The delivery isn't time-sensitive, and cost efficiency is a high priority. Which freight mode is best?
Answer: LTL (Less Than Truckload) as the items weight limit is less than 6000lbs and its cheaper
Scenario 2: Large Equipment Transport A construction firm needs to move 28 pallets of heavy equipment and materials, totaling 42,000 lbs, directly from a supplier to a construction site. Speed and minimizing handling are critical. Which freight mode is best?
Answer: Full Truckload (FTL) – total weight requires the entire trailer and this mode offers the fastest transit and least handling, as the truck goes directly from pickup to delivery.

Sample Activities for LTL Freight:
Obtain a rate quote.
1.Analyze the quoted rate, looking for transit time, base rate, and any applicable accessorial charges.
2.Repeat the process with a different LTL carrier to compare rates and services.
3.Provide the cheapest and fastest option
