Xero Bookkeeping — Full Setup to Month-End Close
This project demonstrates my Xero implementation and system configuration skills using my mock business, Serene Desk Virtual Services Ltd. It showcases the complete setup of a Xero organization—from initial business configuration and Chart of Accounts customization to contact management, financial reporting, and month-end close preparation—providing a solid foundation for efficient bookkeeping operations.
Configured Serene Desk Virtual Services Ltd (Demo) as a fully operational organization in Xero by setting up the business profile, legal information, registration details, business address, reporting preferences, and base currency. Establishing these foundational settings ensures the accounting system is properly configured before financial transactions are recorded.

CHART OF ACCOUNTS CONFIGURATION
Reviewed and customized the default Xero Chart of Accounts to align with the company's bookkeeping requirements. Added custom expense accounts, verified account classifications, and ensured each account was structured to support accurate transaction coding and reliable financial reporting.

CUSTOMER & SUPPLIER SETUP
Created customer and supplier contact records to establish organized Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable workflows. Maintaining complete contact information improves transaction accuracy, streamlines invoicing and bill management, and supports efficient financial recordkeeping.

EXPENSE CLAIM
Created and approved an expense claim using the Xero Expenses module for a business-related transportation expense. Assigned the expense to the appropriate account, attached supporting documentation, and completed the approval process to ensure accurate reimbursement tracking and expense recording.

FINANCIAL REPORTS
Generated and reviewed key financial reports, including the Profit & Loss Report and Balance Sheet, to evaluate the organization's financial performance and position. These reports support business analysis, management decision-making, and month-end review procedures.

AGED REPORTS
Generated Aged Receivables and Aged Payables reports to monitor outstanding customer invoices and supplier bills. These reports help assess cash flow, identify overdue balances, and support effective credit and payment management.
